Manchester United Turn To Villarreal Goalkeeper Diego Lopez – Report
Sir Alex Ferguson could be set to raid Villarreal for goalkeeper Diego Lopez...
United could be prepared to fork out around €20 million (£17m) for the goalkeeper’s signature – almost a fifth of the money they expect to receive from Cristiano Ronaldo’s move to Real Madrid.
Current shot-stopper Edwin van der Sar is fast approaching the end of his career, turning 39 when the new season begins to reach full swing. Sir Alex Ferguson is therefore believed to be looking for a replacement.
Meanwhile, Carlos Tevez could be set to join rivals Manchester City this week.
The Sunday Mirror claims the Eastlands outfit agreed a £47.5 million deal two weeks ago, and the switch will be finalised over the coming days.
The large transfer fee includes a five-year deal at £100,000 per week.
