thumbnail Hello,

Spurs boss Harry Redknapp could be lining up the Bayern man as Van Nistelrooy deal stalls...

Tottenham Hotspur could be set to join the race for Bayern Munich striker Luca Toni, according to reports.

Spurs manager Harry Redknapp had lined up a bid to bring Real Madrid forward Ruud van Nistelrooy to White Hart Lane, but The Sunday People is suggesting Toni is another option for the club.

Redknapp is apparently stalling over Van Nistelrooy's wage demands, coupled with his recent injury history, while chairman Daniel Levy is also said to be unconvinced by the deal.

Tottenham's search for a target man to partner Robbie Keane or Jermaine Defoe could now lead them to prolific goalscorer Toni.

The Italian has made over 50 appearances for Bayern, having joined in 2007 from Fiorentina and top scored in his debut Bundesliga season with 24 goals.

The former Fiorentina ace has now reportedly been deemed surplus to requirements at the German club as they look to rebuild their strikeforce around Mario Gomez.

Fenerbahce are also rumoured to be interested in the World Cup 2006 winner.
