Richard Dunne is reportedly subject to a tug of war between a trio of Premier League clubs who are all after his services...The Northern Echo has reported that 29-year-old Manchester City centre-back Richard Dunne is a wanted man, with Sunderland, Stoke City and Tottenham Hotspur all after the Irish international.
Spurs are in the market for another defender, with Newcastle United's Sebastien Bassong heavily linked to the London outfit. Sunderland are also looking for another defender and Steve Bruce believes that the £5m-rated Richard Dunne will shore up a shaky defence.
Dunne has amassed almost 300 appearances for Manchester City but, with the backing of Sheikh Mansour, Mark Hughes is apparently in the market for Kolo Toure, a move that puts the Irishman's future at Eastlands in doubt.
While he is still prone to defensive lapses, Dunne has been impressive in the heart of Manchester City's back line and Bruce will fight hard to bring him to the Stadium of Light.
Stoke City have also been credited with an interest but they are more likely to strengthen other areas of the squad first as they have a relatively reliable defence.
