Marko Arnautovic, the Austrian international whose foot injury seemed to be ruling out a permanent move to Italian giants Inter last week, with the Milanese negotiating a loan deal instead, will not be moving to Chelsea.
That has been confirmed to Goal.com today by the player's agent Robert Groener, who revealed exclusively that the deal taking the striker to Serie A would not be sabotaged by a late bid from the west London club.
"There is no news regarding a Chelsea move," said Groener.
"The move to Inter is still being negotiated.
"The clubs are talking now, but it's difficult to say when it will happen because of the (foot) injury to the player."
One thing was certain, though, and that would be that Arnautovic would not be playing his trade in the Eredivisie with Steve McClaren's team once the summer break was over.
"He will not be an FC Twente player next season," Groener concluded.
