Hermann Hreidarsson Could Swap Portsmouth For Rangers
The Iceland international has revealed that he is still tempted by a move to Glasgow...
Hermann Hreidarsson has revealed that a move from Portsmouth to Scottish giants Rangers might still be on the cards this summer, as he is out of contract and it is still unclear as to who the manager at Fratton Park will be next season.
Dhubai-born billionaire, Dr Sulaiman Al Fahim, is expected to complete his purchase of Portsmouth soon, once the necessary due diligence process is complete.
But Hreidarsson is not necessarily prepared to put up with much more uncertainty and the Gers could be the benficiaries.
"I would be interested but, as yet, nothing's been offered - at least nothing concrete," Hreidarsson told The News of the World.
"I'm still waiting on Portsmouth to appoint a new manager. I will have a word with him and see what he's got to say. But I would look upon the Scottish League as a good, new challenge for me.
"Rangers would be a good club for any player to move to, especially when they have the Champions League coming up next season."
The 34-year-old's agent confirmed recently that the defender, known for his strength and professionalism, could well be tempted by a move to Ibrox, but any such move remains speculation at this stage of the summer.
