Carlo Ancelotti's past achievements impress Chelsea's box-to-box midfielder Frank Lampard, and the 30-year-old is hoping that the Blues have found another "great man and a great manager", much like departed interim boss Guus Hiddink.

Lampard is currently in Kazakhstan, preparing for a World Cup qualifier in Almaty on Saturday, June 6, but ahead of the game spoke to the BBC about the prospect of working with the experienced Champions League winning manager.

"Everyone who has worked with him has nothing but the highest praise for him as a man and a manager," Lampard began. "I worked with Guus Hiddink who is a great man and a great manager and hopefully we have got another one.

"I'm very impressed by the bond and the way he seems to work with the players.

"You can't fail to be impressed by a man who managed AC Milan to titles and won the Champions League twice. I have always had a good relationship with my managers and I would like to think I will have a good relationship with him as well.

"I feel very honoured to have played under so many top managers. I have had a great relationship with all of them and whether they have been successful or not quite so, I have always taken plus points from all of them.

"Hopefully if I carry on playing and maybe go into management one day I can certainly say I will take a little bit of every manager I have had with me - and hopefully I will be better for the experience," he concluded.

Ancelotti officially begins his tenure as Chelsea manager on July 1. He is the Stamford Bridge side's sixth manager under the ownership of Roman Abramovich. He follows Claudio Ranieri; Jose Mourinho; Avram Grant; Luiz Felipe Scolari; and Hiddink.
