David Dunn Looking To Bounce Back In Major Way For Blackburn
The injury-bedeviled midfielder is bent on making up for lost time...
Blackburn midfielder David Dunn is eager to make up for a season which never quite got going for him due to injury.
The 29-year-old was limited to just eight Premier League appearances last term, which is considered part of the reason why Rovers had such an underwhelming campaign, along with injuries to other key midfielders.
"Obviously there's a couple of us this year, obviously Brett Emerton had a serious knee injury, likewise did Steven Reid and there's myself - so we'll be in there working hard all summer," Dunn was quoted as saying by Sky Sports.
"We've got a great backroom staff, great physios at the club, great doctor so I am just hoping that all three of us can get back into contention pretty quickly."
Dunn went on to heap praise on Sam Allardyce for coming in and steadying the club at a time when their mere ability to stay in the league was being cast into doubt.
"Without being too unkind, we didn't have a great season this year," he added, referring mostly to Paul Ince's tenure.
"But we feel that next year we can really push on.
"He (Allardyce) has done a great job and he has stabilised the club and give us at least another season in that top-flight."
