Phil Jagielka Predicts Swift Return For Everton
Everton's Player of the Year is very happy with the way his knee has recovered surgery...
Everton defender Phil Jagielka says he is expecting a swift recovery following a successful knee surgery.
The England international elicited much sympathy both form his club colleagues and within the wider football world after his recent knee ligament injury not only cut short his season but, more cruelly still, ruled him out of the FA Cup final.
Speaking ahead of Sunday's showcase event, which saw Everton succumb to a sensational strike by Chelsea's Frank Lampard, Jagielka put on a brave face to Setanta Sports.
“The surgery has been fantastic. I am on crutches at the moment, slowly but surely it’s getting there and things are going well at the moment," he said optimistically.
”Hopefully I will be back sooner rather than later.”
Jagielka recently scooped Everton's Player of the Year award and was further rewarded by being granted a new and improved five-year contract.
