Teddy Sheringham Thinks Ferguson Won't Let Tevez Leave Manchester United

The former United striker thinks that the club's manager is far too astute a man to let the Argentine slip away from Old Trafford...
Manchester United manager Alex Ferguson will not allow dynamic Argentine striker Carlos Tevez slide through his fingers, and swap Old Trafford for another club amongst the many rumoured to be hovering with intent.

Most prominent amongst those rumoured to be ready to make a summer swoop for the player are United's great rivals Liverpool and Manchester City, and Sheringham feels that there is no way Ferguson would let such a talent leave with such ease.

"I don’t think Sir Alex will let Tevez go," the man who helped United to the treble in 1999 told Four-Four-Two magazine.

"He’s an outstanding player, a top quality performer and Sir Alex knows the difference he makes every time he comes on the pitch - he won’t want to let someone like that leave.

“Who knows what’s going on behind the scenes but Sir Alex will know Tevez is committed to the cause, gives 100 percent effort whenever he plays and has the quality on top of that to make a real difference when he gets in certain positions.

"He’ll definitely want to keep him at the club."
