Alex Ferguson To Snub Carlos Tevez In Champions League Final - Report

The forward's omission from the Rome line-up could seal his exit...
Sir Alex Ferguson is to stick to the team that out-classed Arsenal over two-legs and, therefore, potentially outbound forward Carlos Tevez will cut a forlorn figure on the bench, helping to quicken any desire the hard-working Argentina international has of leaving Old Trafford in the summer, according to British tabloid The Sun.

The only change to Manchester United's Champions League final line-up is one that was forced upon Ferguson, as versatile veteran midfielder Ryan Giggs will be brought in to replace the suspended Darren Fletcher.

There will also be room for Ji-Sung Park, who was infamously dropped for the European final last year in a decision that Sir Alex later reflected was one of the hardest he had made in his football management career.

The Sun speculate that Tevez's final snub will act as a catalyst for a move elsewhere, even if United decide to provide the funds necessary to broker the deal themselves. The player has many admirers, but Rafael Benitez and Liverpool are expected to be heading the chase.

Cristiano Ronaldo, Wayne Rooney, and Park will therefore constitute the forward three, while Michael Carrick, Anderson, and Giggs, will sit in the middle of the pitch. John O'Shea will be positioned at right-back, Patrice Evra on the left, while Nemanja Vidic and Rio Ferdinand will slot in in the middle. Edwin van der Sar will complete the team.
