Nasri Believes Wenger Has Unfinished Business With Arsenal
The young midfielder believes his mentor will see out the remainder of the project that he began...
Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has long quashed the consistent rumours linking him with an Emirates exit, but the Frenchman is alleged to have recently revealed that it would be interesting to work for Florentino Perez at Real Madrid, sparking countless headlines declaring the Gunners gaffer's potential summer departure.
Samir Nasri, bought by Wenger for a near £16million last summer, believes his tutor will stay true to the Ashburton Grove outfit, though, and that he will remain loyal to his own personal project despite the barren run without silverware that the club have reluctantly embarked upon.
Nasri told the Daily Mail, "[Wenger] leaving is out of question. Ask me the same question again in two years
and I will tell you, maybe.
"But I understand that he has a
two-year project and is trying hard to help Arsenal link up with their
glorious past. We will see what happens within two years. And we may
speak about his future again," he said.
Regarding his decision to join a club perceived to be in constant transition, Nasri added, "I do not regret moving at all. I wanted to discover and live this football. At the age of 21, I did not wanted to leave for the sake of it, but because I knew that Arsenal had what is needed for me to feel good.
"And a French manager helps you settle abroad, plus the players who speak the same language as you," he concluded.
