Stoke City's Tony Pulis: We Have Proved A Point
The Potters boss feels his side have silenced the doubters by staying in the Premier League...
The away side began the scoring in the first half, when Ricardo Fuller swivelled in the box to give his side the lead.
Glenn Whelan almost made it two but his shot struck the frame of the goal, before Liam Lawrence's super strike doubled the Potters lead.
A late consolation from Andy Dawson was not enough and the Potters picked up a very well deserved three points.
After the game, Pulis felt his side have fully deserved to stay in the league this season, and praised them for all their hard work.
Speaking to Sky Sports, Pulis said, "It has been a tough season for us but we have kept going. We have been battle-hardened.
"We have got a little bit more than people have given us credit for and I can talk about that now we have stayed up."
The Potters boss also stated it was nice to prove people wrong in beating the drop.
"It is the first time I have managed in the Premier League," continued Pulis.
"To prove a lot of people wrong is nice.
"I have worked very hard in my career, as a player and a manager. I always get up every morning and try and do my best.
"That is what we have all tried to do and every game the players have been smashing.
"The most important thing is yourselves. It is not proving other people wrong, it is proving we can do it. That is the big thing."
The result leaves Stoke in 12th place in the league table, and with their safety assured, they can now start looking to build for next season.
