Dirk Kuyt Reflects On Liverpool's 'Good Season'

Liverpool striker Dirk Kuyt has ruminated philosophically on the Reds' progress this season, and, although disappointed that they seem to have conceded the league title to Manchester United, remains upbeat about their progress and is sure that they can improve.

"I think we've had quite a good season," he told Setanta Sports. "In the last couple of months we've played really well.

"I think we've done everything we could, and we'll do everything we can in the last couple of games. Then we'll see how things will end.

"We have to focus on our own games, win our own games and just wait and see."

As for the famous 4-4 draw at with Arsenal at Anfield, a game that many observers felt signalled the end of the Reds' title bid, Kuyt felt that errors had prevented his spirited side from winnning.

"Maybe we deserved to win the game," he mused. "We scored four goals only we made too many mistakes.

"Sometimes these kind of things happen in football, and the great thing about that day was that we went on to equalise in the last minute.

As for what is left of this campaign, Kuyt affirmed that Liverpool would keep trying to "win every game", but if they didn't claim the crown this season, then they would be challenging once again next year.

"Both teams are fighting," he said of the Reds and United. "At the end of the day, the one who is leading at the end of the season deserves to win the Premier League.

"Hopefully that's Liverpool, because I think we've had a great season. But if it's not, we just keep going and we take it into the next season."
