Manchester United's Danny Welbeck: I Should Have Had A Penalty Against Everton
The England Under-21 striker says he was fouled by Phil Jagielka when through on goal in the FA Cup semi-final on Sunday...
The 18-year-old looked to be through on goal before going to ground after clashing with the England international in the 68th minute of the game.
The England Under-21 international is adamant that he would have given the Red Devils the lead had he not been fouled by the Toffees centre-back.
"I was barged on my left-hand side and as I went down I was caught on the leg as well," Welbeck is quoted as saying by The Sun.
"I had no reason just to go down because if I had not been fouled I would have scored — I was round the keeper.
"I’m disappointed to lose. We should have won even without that penalty because we were the better team."
Jagielka has since admitted that he did make contact with Welbeck and was fortunate not to be penalised for it.
