Jospeh Yobo Gives Everton A Boost Ahead Of Wembley

The defender could return and add solidity to the Toffees' spine against United...

Everton have been handed some encouraging news on the injury front ahead of the weekend's visit to Wembley to face Manchester United in the FA Cup semi-final, with Nigerian centre-back Joseph Yobo returning to training after a three-week spell on the sidelines with a hamstring tear.

Striker Louis Saha, however, was forced to miss training today after being sent home yesterday suffering from a virus.

"Joe has trained, so hopefully he’s got a chance of being in the squad,” Toffees' manager David Moyes told The Liverpool Echo.

"But there’s a worry because Louis hasn’t been well; hopefully it’s just sickness and he’ll be okay."

There were better tidings for Everton fans with the news that striker James Vaughan is feeling fit, and is almost ready to be back in contention for the first-team after a lenghty spell out following knee surgery.

The youngster came through 68 minutes for the Blues' reserve side this week, and another successful run out for the second string this week could mean Moyes considers him for Wembley.

"I’ll be watching to see how Vaughany comes on in training, and a reserve game could well put him in contention," the Glaswegian added.

"Generally it’s a bit early for him but hopefully we’ll see how he is after this week."
