Manchester United striker Federico Macheda has certainly made an impact since his joining the first team and is set to be rewarded with a new deal once he reaches 18 years of age.

"Federico has a contract until 2011 and in August, when he turns 18, we will discuss everything [with Manchester United]," the player's agent, Giovanni Bia, told Sky Sport 24.

"I believe that Manchester will ask us to sign a five-year contract and for us, three to four, or five, years does not change anything. The [monetary] figures we have spoken about and there will be no problems."

There have been suggestions that the starlet could be called up to the Italy Under-21 squad in the near future.

"I don't know. [Coach Pierluigi] Casiraghi has to make the choices," Bia explained. "Federico must still prove so many things, but certainly things are pointing in that direction."

The young star, who has scored two game winning goals for the Red Devils against Aston Villa and Sunderland in his first two appearances for the club, will reportedly earn a quite significant wage increase.

Sir Alex Ferguson is so impressed with Macheda that is weekly wage will jump from £400 to £10,000 once negotiations commence in the summer.
