Speaking ahead of Bolton Wanderers' Premier League game away at Chelsea on Saturday, Kevin Davies has recalled reading speculation linking him with a move to Stamford Bridge.

It was rumoured that the 6ft striker had been identified as a possible recruit by former Blues boss Luiz Felipe Scolari, much to the former Chesterfield, Southampton and Blackburn Rovers star's amusement.

"I think it was on the back of one of the papers so I showed it to my young boy and he was really excited," Davies is quoted as saying in The Sun.

"He was saying, ‘When are you signing for Chelsea, dad?’ But I just had a laugh about it."

Asked about his plans for the future, the 32-year-old replied, "If a club came in for me I’d think about it but I’m more than happy here."
