Ledley King Expects Blackburn To Give Tottenham A Rough Ride
There was no arrogance detectable in the voice of the King of White Hart Lane as he looked forward to the next game against a suffering Rovers side...
Ledley King says that he and his Tottenham Hotspur team-mates are high on confidence at the moment but fully expects Blackburn Rovers to put them through the proverbial wringer on the weekend.
A hard-earned and dramatic victory over city rivals Chelsea in the last round of Premier League action made it six games unbeaten for the north Londoners, and as such their relegation fears have almost completely been extinguished.
Spurs are now gunning for a spot in next term's Europa League, but they will be up against a wounded tiger in its own den this weekend, as the danger of demotion for Blackburn is still very clear at present.
"It's always a tough place to go, they are a physical side and over the last few seasons most of the games have been very close. You know that you are in for a difficult game up there and I'd expect nothing different," King told tottenhamhotspur.com.
"Their fans will get behind them and it's up to us to keep them quiet and play our game.
"We've been better away from home of late, we've found a formula that works for us and we'll be looking to that again."
In regards to the Lilywhite's surge in form, King said, "Things are looking up, we're in good form and these are the games you have to go and win when you are in that form.
"We've been in good form in the past and notoriously we'd go and slip up in a game like this. It's a big test for us now."
