Report: Jay Simpson Won't Extend West Brom Loan If They're Relegated From Premier League
The striker, on loan at The Hawthorns from Arsenal, is not keen on playing football in the Championship...
According to a report in the British tabloid The Daily Mail, Jay Simpson will reject an offer from West Bromwich Albion to remain on loan with the club next season if they fail to avoid the drop from the Premier League.
Baggies manager Tony Mowbray recently revealed that he will contact Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger to see whether he can keep the 20-year-old striker at the Hawthorns next season.
Since arriving at the West Midlands based outfit in the January transfer window, the former England under-18 international has impressed Mowbray, scoring two goals in 12 appearances.
While Simpson has not ruled out the possibility of going out on loan again next season, he has apparently suggested he hopes to remain in England's top flight, and with West Brom seven points from safety, it seems unlikely he will be playing for the Albion next year.
