Boxing star and Bolton Wanderers fan Amir Khan fully expects the club to avoid relegation this season, and has stated that Gary Megson is the right man for the job.

There have been claims recently, from the club's fanbase, that Megson is not person who should be in control of the club. But Khan feels he is the only choice to take Bolton forward.

The club find themselves in 12th place in the Premier League table, just five points above the relegation zone, but Khan thinks the team will escape the drop this season.

Speaking to The Bolton News, Khan said, "Gary Megson is doing a good job and he knows exactly what to do.

"Bolton are not doing that well at the moment but they will come back, and stay up this season.

"In any sport you have ups and downs. If they can get a couple of wins in the next few games, they will be back up there."

The team's position makes their next game, a relegation clash against Middlesbrough, vital in their quest for Premier League survival.

Megson took charge of the Manchester based club two years ago and has been integral in attracting some big names to the club, including Swedish star Johan Elmander, who moved to the Reebok Stadium for a club record fee of £8.2 million.
