Fabio Aurelio Angles For New Liverpool Deal
The Reds full-back wants a long stay at Anfield, following a patch of fabulous form...
The Brazilian has been inspired by manager Rafael Benitez, who signed a new five year deal at Anfield last week, ending months of speculation over his future.
The 29-year-old scored the third goal in Liverpool's vital 4-1 win over Manchester United at Old Trafford, and now has high hopes of winning the Premier League title with the club.
Speaking to The Sunday Times, Aurelio said, "He's shown he's getting better [in England] every season and this is a good moment to give him the opportunity to even get bigger.
"He lives for football and that's what makes the difference between him and other coaches."
Aurelio, along with Dirk Kuyt, Alvaro Arbeloa and Daniel Agger, is a free agent at the end of the next year, and Benitez will be hoping to tie up all four deals quickly.
Aurelio is hopeful of being offered a new contract by the club he signed for three years ago.
"If the club and the boss are happy with my work, for sure I'll be happy to continue, so it should not be complicated," he said.
"I had one talk with the boss at the beginning of the season but he was telling us he would like us to wait until he decided his situation before talking to the players who were finishing contracts.
"Now he's staying, it should be easier. But, honestly, I haven't been thinking about it. I'm very happy in the moment I am in now."
Aurelio joined Liverpool from Valencia, where he spent three years with Benitez before joining him at Anfield.
