Arsenal's Cesc Fabregas maintains he did not spit at Hull City assistant manager Brian Horton, after being informed that the Tigers are prepared to file an official complaint.
The Spanish international insists he is happy to speak to the FA (Football Association) as he has a clear conscience with regards to the claims that he spat at Horton following the Gunners 2-1 FA Cup quarter final victory at the Emirates Stadium on Tuesday evening.
"I’ve absolutely nothing to hide and nothing to be ashamed of," Fabregas is quoted as saying in The Sun.
"The simple fact is I did not spit at the assistant manager of Hull City."
The 21-year-old also dismissed claims that video footage clearly shows him spitting at Chelsea midfielder Michael Ballack while he was playing for German giants Bayern Munich.
"I remember the incident clearly. It was four years ago and I leant over and shouted at him. I did not spit at him," Fabregas said.
It is thought that the FA will make initial inquiries about the incident before it is handed over to the League Managers' Association to launch an official investigation.
"I will leave it in the FA’s hands for the time being, I will wait to see what they say," Fabregas concluded.
