It is claimed that Toffees manager David Moyes has sent scouts to watch the 6ft 1in combative midfielder in action and has enquired about his availability this summer.
Having started his footballing career with hometown club Malaga after rising through their youth ranks, the 26-year-old moved to Depor in 2006.
Rodriguez has featured in every one of Herculinos' 27 league fixtures this season, weighing in with two goals.
With Everton currently occupying sixth place in the Premier League, it is likely that they will qualify for next season's Europa League, so the Scot may well be looking to boost his squad depth.
