Sevilla Star Freddie Kanoute Reveals English Interest
The Malian has admitted that he has been contacted by English clubs over a possible return...
Sevilla star Freddie Kanoute claims there are several clubs keen to sign him, but refused to be drawn into naming names.
The 31-year-old Mali international had a mixed bag of things at West Ham United and Tottenham before really coming into his own following a €4.9 million move to Sevilla in the summer of 2005.
Kanoute still has just over a year to go on his current deal but it was perhaps telling that he did not close the door on a return to Premier League, whilst revealing interest from the country that he used to call home.
"My agent keeps getting calls from English clubs but I have a contract with Sevilla," Kanoute told Four Four Two magazine.
"In England I still have a good reputation which is a good sign and means that people remember the work that I did there.
"I know I will soon begin negotiations to extend my contract but I need to speak to the club's president and sports director to see the club's plans and mine.
"I don't know how many years I have left but I am fine physically and hope to continue for many more years."
