Arsenal Manager Arsene Wenger Manchester City's First Choice To Replace Mark Hughes - Report
Jose Mourinho, Slaven Bilic and Diego Maradona are also on the Citizen's short-list should the French tactician turn them down...
It is claimed that current Citizens boss Mark Hughes is set to receive the chop in the summer and the club's owners want the French tactician to turn them into a major force to be reckoned with.
It is reported that the Middle East billionaires hope the thought of having an open cheque book could persuade the 59-year-old former Monaco coach to take over the reins at City.
While the likes of current Inter boss Jose Mourinho, Croatia head coach Slaven Bilic and Argentina manager Diego Maradona are also being considered to take over from Hughes, Wenger seems to be their top target.
"The people who own City have a big respect for Arsene and what he has done at Arsenal," a Manchester City inside source is quoted as saying in The Daily Mirror.
"They do have the same respect for Jose Mourinho and have indicated that Bilic would be another option but Arsene is the man they want."
