Cesc Fabregas: If Arsene Wenger Goes, I'll Leave Arsenal

The talismanic Catalan is adamant that if the boss goes, then the club just won't be the same.

Arsenal midfielder Cesc Fabregas has intimated today that should Arsene Wenger ever decide to leave the Emirates Stadium, then he would be forced to follow suit.

The Catalan feels that the Gunners are "the ideal club", but still feels that the crucial factor in future success is the cerebral and articulate Frenchman who has overseen a virtual revolution over the last decade-and-a-half in north London.

"If Wenger leaves, I will think of moving on," Fabregas told Catalunya Radio today.

"I’m happy at Arsenal because it’s the ideal club."

Fabregas, possibly conscious of speaking in his homeland, also compared the Gunners' style of play to that of  Primera Division leaders Barcelona, stating,  "If at the present time there’s a team in Europe that plays like Barca, it’s Arsenal."

As for the player's injury, sustained in a challenge with Liverpool's Basque midfielder Xabi Alonso, Fabregeas hinted at a return in the spring.

"I prefer not speaking about my injury," he said, but added, "I want to be back playing at the start or in mid-April."
