Schalke 04 are in a pole position to sign Ghana international Samuel Inkoom, Goal can reveal.
The Gelsenkirchen club are looking for an alternative in the right-back position and have now targeted the Ghanaian player.
The Bundesliga club sent scouts to watch the 25-year-old during the Netherlands-Ghana friendly and are now considering a summer swoop for him.
However, Jens Keller's side have to contend with Everton and Olympiakos who are also rumoured to be interested in the Dnipro Dnipropetrovsk player.
The former Basel player, who featured for Ghana in the 2010 World Cup, can also play on the right side of midfield and as a winger and is expected to cost around €4 million this summer.
