Villas-Boas: I will not stop Adebayor playing in Africa Cup of Nations
The Tottenham striker recently refused to play for Togo, citing a lack of protection from the country's FA, but his club boss says he has not ruled out a reversal
Tottenham coach Andre Villas-Boas has revealed he will not stop Emmanuel Adebayor from representing Togo at the Africa Cup of Nations should he reverse his decision to retire from international football. The Spurs forward, who was present during a 2010 attack on the Togolese team bus which left three dead, recently announced that he will not play for his country until the FA do more to protect their players.

| 3/1 | Emmanuel Adebayor is 3/1 to score the first goal when Spurs face Coventry with William Hill |
"I haven't confirmed it because it's a vulnerable situation and anything can happen," he told reporters.
"The player can still go, but we just need to be aware of it. It's always his choice because I'm not going to put myself in a position where I block a player from international duty.
"If he wants to go, we fully respect it. I'm not involved in any form and the club have nothing to do with the situation.
"With some luck, even if the player goes, maybe he's still involved in the QPR game."
