Gabon to host Portugal friendly in Libreville
The Panthers will play an international friendly match against the Seleccao on November 14 in the central African nation’s capital, Libreville
Gabon will be playing an international friendly match against Portugal on November 14 in Libreville, the Gabon football federation said on Tuesday.
It will be the second time in a year the Panthers are playing host to a top non-African opposition after they were defeated 2-0 by Brazil on November 11 during the inauguration of the Stade Amitie, the stadium that hosted the final of the 2012 Africa Cup of Nations on February 12.
Gabon recently hired former Burkina Faso coach Paulo Duarte to take over from German manager Gernot Rohr, who fell out if favour with officials after the co-hosts crashed out of the 2012 Afcon in the quarter-finals.
Gabon were crushed 3-0 in a friendly against South Africa last month in Nelspruit.
