Title-holders Maghreb Fes have been drawn against Congo's AC Leopards while 2011 finalists Club Africain are pitted against their familiar Malian foes Djoliba
The draw for the last 16 of the Caf Confederation Cup was held in Egypt on Tuesday. Teams dumped out of the 2012 Champions League such as Maghreb Fes, Al-Hilal, AFAD, Stade Malien, Djoliba, Dyanmos, Coton Sport, and Al-Merreikh joined the eight sides that had advanced from the previous round.
Caf Confederation Cup and Caf Supercup title-holders Maghreb Fes were drawn against Congo’s AC Leopards while beaten 2011 finalists Club Africain will take on Mali’s Djoliba.
With three teams in the competition, Sudan are tied with Mali and Morocco for most representatives in the tournament. Heavyweights Al-Hilal and and Al-Merreikh will take on CO Bamako and Black Leopards while Al-Ahli Shendi face a tough opponent in Cameroon’s Coton Sport.
The first round of matches will take place between June 29 and July 1 while the return legs will be played on July 13-15.
