The group stage draw for the last eight of the 2012 Caf Champions League has set up some tense matches between Al Ahly and Zamalek in Egypt and Esperance and Etoile in Tunisia

The draw for the 2012 Caf Champions League group stage was held in Cairo on Tuesday, resulting in Egyptian clubs Al Ahly and Zamalek being pitted against each other in group A and Tunisian sides Esperance and Etoile du Sahel facing off in group B.

Joining the Red Devils and White Knights in the first group are former continental title-holders TP Mazembe and newcomers Berekum Chelsea. Meanwhile, Nigeria’s Sunshine Stars and Algeria’s ASO Chlef are in group B alongside the two Tunisian representatives.

The round robin matches are scheduled to begin on June 7-8 and end by September 14-16. The top two teams of each group will advance to the semi-finals that will begin on October 5-7.
