The Pharaohs want to play against the Super Eagles but the NFF has not decided whether or not to accept

The Egyptian Football Association has written to the Nigeria Football Federation for a possible friendly international date in April.

The Pharaohs want to play against the Super Eagles as part of their rebuilding process under new American coach Bob Bradley.

The Egyptians, record seven-time winners of the Africa Cup of Nations, failed to qualify for the 2012 Afcon in Gabon and Equatorial Guinea.

"I can confirm that we have received a request from the Egyptian Football Association for a game with the Eagles next month," NFF spokesman Demola Olajire told MTNFootball.

"But the general secretary is still studying the request and we would communicate the Egyptian FA.

"The Egyptians have requested for next month, so we will look at the request and agree on a date."

The last time Nigeria met the Egyptians was in the preliminary stage of the 2010 Afcon in Angola where they lost 3-1 after taking the lead from a Chinedu Obasi goal.

Egyptian football recently suffered tragedy when 74 fans lost their lives in a league game between Al Ahli and Al Masry in Port Said.
