Brazil attacking midfielder Rivaldo could light up a domestic league in Africa as an Angola top flight side Kabuscorp looks set to announce a possible deal with the 1999 FIFA World Player of the Year in the coming days.

The president of the Girabola (top division in Angola) outfit, Bento Kangamba, told A Bola that his side is closing in on the former Sao Paulo player and could announce a pact shortly.

“Every club in Angola is strengthening, we could not fall behind,” Kangamba said. “The opportunity for us to sign Rivaldo came up and we are committed to making this happen.”

The president of the Luanda-based top flight side noted that although the former Barcelona player is 39 years old, he still believes he has the ability to add quality to his side.

Kangamba said, “People talk about his age a lot, but a player with his quality and experience still has a lot to give to football, and hopefully Angola.”

Kangamba added that he hopes to announce a deal for Rivaldo on Friday. Kabuscorp's first appearance in the Girabola was in 2008 and they finished in the 10th position.
