Although they won 2-0 in the first match of their Spain-based training camp against Basque Country on Wedendsday, the Tunisians were forced to defend for long periods against Jose Maria Ammorrortu and Mikel Etxarri's men. The first half in particular was a difficult one for the visitors but the team visibly improved once Sami Trabelsi made second-half changes, with most the danger emanating from substitutes Yassine Chikhaoui, Iheb Msakni, and Amine Chermiti.
Now the north Africans have an even bigger test on their hands as they travel to Barcelona to face a Johan Cruyff coached Catalonia side on Friday. The Dutchman has called-up a total of 11 Barca players for the occassion and the Tunisians will have to put forth an equally spirited but much more consistent performance if they hope to emerge from the Estadi Lluis Companys unscathed.
With eight Blaugrana first-team regulars such as Victor Valdes, Carlos Puyol, Gerard Pique, Cesc Fabregas, Sergio Busquets, Xavi Hernandez, and Isaac Cuenca in the side, it is likely to be a long night for the Carthage Eagles. Trabelsi will probably look to fortify his defence by inserting Toulouse standout centre-back Aymen Abdennour into the starting lineup after the youngster was spared participation in the first-game due to his taxing first half of the season in French Ligue 1.
