Egypt want Beijing Guoan's Jaime Pacheco as new head coach - report

The African champions have set their sights on the Portuguese coach, who will reportedly pass up the opportunity in order to continue his work in China
Egypt have expressed an interest in appointing Beijing Guoan boss Jaime Pacheco as their new coach, according to news daily Record.

The Africa Cup of Nations champions are currently on the lookout for a new coach after the resignation of Hassan Shehata in June following a series of disappointing results.

Pacheco made a name for himself at Boavista, whom he guided to their only Portuguese league title in the 2000-01 season, as well as their only appearance in the Uefa Cup semi-finals.

The Portuguese tactician joined Beijing Guoan at the start of the year and has enjoyed success at the Chinese club, who are currently second in the league.

Despite Egypt's interest, Record claims that Pacheco will turn down the offer as he plans to continue at Beijing Guoan, with whom he has a contract until December.
