Tanzania leaves for Central African Republic minus top players

A number of players have been withdrawn from the team due to injuries or unavailability owing to club duties

Midfielder Henry Joseph, goalkeeper Juma Kaseja and Vietnam based stars Danny Mrwanda and Abdi Kassim are some of the players that missed Tanzania’s trip to Central African Republic today ahead of their upcoming African Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifier against the Les Fauves.

Henry, who features for Kongsvinger IL of Norway, picked up a knock during a training session, while first choice goalkeeper Juma Kaseja was also withdrawn due to injury. Vietnam based stars Danny Mrwanda and Abdi Kassim could not be released by their club DT Long An on claims that the club didn’t receive enough notification.

Taifa Stars head coach Jan Poulsen has opted to include in the squad Mtibwa Sugar goalkeeper, Shaaban Kado and TP Mazembe striker, Mbwana Samata as he seeks to have the strongest possible squad for the encounter.

The players who traveled to CAR include goalkeepers; Kado and Shaaban Dihile, defenders; Idrisa Rajab, Nadir Haroub ‘Canavaro’, Aggrey Morris, Juma Nyoso, Amir Maftah and Shadrack Nsajigwa. Midfielders; Shaaban Nditi, Nizar Khalfan, Jabir Aziz, Mwinyi Kazimoto, Julius Mrope and Salum Machaku while strikers are Mohamed Banka, John Bocco, Athumani Machupa, Mrisho Ngasa and Samata.
