Cameroon coach made a last minute call up for the duo to replace injured players…

Cameroon coach Javier Clemente has summoned to camp Aston Villa’s 27-year-old defensive midfielder Jean Il Makoun and Monaco’s 22-year-old rising star Benjamin Moukandjo to replace two of the Indomitable Lions players sidelined for the February 9th friendly against FYR Macedonia in Skopje.

Originally rostered were Valenciennes striker Vincent Aboubakar, 1,9 and Rennes midfielder Georges Mandjeck, but both were declared unfit for the Macedonia trip due to injuries sustained during club matches.

Cameroon are leaving no stone unturned as they prepare for their key clash against Group E leaders Senegal in the third round of the 2012 African Cup of Nations qualifying.

Espanyol goalkeeper Carlos Kameni makes his national team comeback after his ouster by the FA following Cameroon’s 2010 World Cup debacle. Arsenal’s Alex Song has asked to be given some time of reflection on his eventual return, while Real Betis attacking midfielder Achille Emana continues to state his case to the FA after he denied criticising the body in the media.
