Blackburn Rover’s Striker El Hadji Diouf Willing To Play For Senegal Again
El Hadji Diouf says he will play for Senegal if the people need him…

While Senegal and DR Congo locked horns over the weekend in Lubumbashi during the first round of the 2012 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying matches, which the Lions of Teranga won 4-2, former team striker El Hadji Diouf was in Abidjan, Cote D’Ivoire for a private visit as well as following the happenings around his former national team, most certainly.
He gave an interview to Spoire Ivoire on Saturday, expressing his willingness to come back to the team after retiring in April 2009.
“I can’t say it’s finished between me and Senegal,” he said. “I only took a break because I wasn’t happy with so many things going on then in the team. But now if the people of Senegal ask me to come back, I wouldn’t hesitate.”
Diouf was part of the brilliant Senegalese squad that stunned many during the 2002 World Cup, defeating the then reigning champions France in their opener.
Diouf had visited Cote D’Ivoire to attend a ceremony of the Akralè Foundation – a charity venture he jointly runs with Didier Drogba and Senegalese-American R&B singer Akon.
