Philippe Troussier has been linked with a return to a coaching position - this time with Algeria.
The man known as the “White Witch Doctor” could return after the resignation of Rabah Saadane following the North African country’s surprising home draw against Tanzania in 2012 AFCON qualifying.
“I am available and a candidate for the Algerian national team post. I am ready to rise to this challenge but I have not been contacted even though I have a very good relationship with the President of the Algerian Federation, Mohamed Raouraoua,” affirmed Troussier while speaking to RMC.
The Fennecs are expected to be provisionally led by Olympic and domestic national team coach Abdelhak Ben Chikha but the former Club African coach told Ennahar yesterday that he had yet to be officially contacted about the possibility of taking over in a caretaker capacity while the FAF search for a long term solution.
Some coaches who are rumored to have submitted their CV’s for consideration are Philippe Troussier, Pierre Lechantre, and Rolland Courbis.
