Ahead of the Africa Cup of Nations qualifier match against DR Congo slated for September 5, Senegal’s Lions of Teranga will be leaving Paris, France – where they are currently camped - on Thursday evening to Lubumbashi, DR Congo.
“A better part of the team is in house and we have begun intensive training sessions which will end on Thursday morning before airlifting for DR Congo on Thursday evening,” Senegal’s FA (FSF) said in a statement.
Mamadou Niang, Issiar Dia and Boukary Dramé have joined the rest of the squad while Jackson Mendy and Pape Malickou Diakhaté were being expected, according to FSF.
Senegal are in Group E alongside Cameroon, DR Congo and Mauritius.
Coaches of both teams: Amara Traoré of Senegal and Robert Nouzaret of DR Congo, have expressed their desires to claim three points from this important encounter before moving ahead to confront the group’s heavyweights Cameroon.
