New Cote d’Ivoire coach Francois Zahoui announced that Kolo Toure has been stripped of the captain’s armband he was handed in the absence of Didier Drogba, who quit the national team set-up earlier this week.

Zahoui made the announcement at a press conference on Wednesday ahead of Cote d’Ivoire’s AFCON qualifier with Rwanda on Saturday.

The press conference was attended by almost every single player called up to the Elephants squad to face the Rwandans and Zahoui went on to reveal that Sevilla midfielder Didier Zokora would now captain the side.

Zahoui concluded by assuring the press that his team was cohesive enough to successfully confront Rwanda on September 4.
