En route to South Africa where they will be playing Bafana Bafana on 4 September in the Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers, the Niger national team stopped by in Lubumbashi, Congo to appraise their form in a friendly match against CAF reigning club champions TP Mazembe on Tuesday.
The Mena displayed fantastic play throughout the game, even after conceding a goal before recess, from Mazembe’s Alain Kaluyituka, which would end up being the only goal of the encounter.
However, Niger, according to Le Messager, were happy with their form and are flying with some amount of confidence to South Africa to play the 2010 World Cup hosts in the north eastern city of Nelspruit.
Niger are in Group G alongside South Africa, Egypt and Sierra Leone.
