French based Kenyan striker Dennis Oliech led three other Kenyan internationals to link with local based players at Moi International Stadium, Kasarani as Harambee Stars continued its preparation for an away Africa Nations Cup qualifier match against Guinea Bissau this weekend.
Inter Milan midfielder MacDonald Mariga is expected to link up with the squad tomorrow morning before departing for Guinea Bissau.
The other professionals include Arnold Origi of Norway’s Moss FK, Patrick Osiako of Sweden’s Mjallby AIF, and Robert Mambo of Umea FC in Sweden.
Harambee Stars manager Edward Oduor confirmed the arrival of the five professional players.
“We sent them tickets and received confirmation. By tomorrow (Wednesday) morning, we’ll have all the professionals apart from Mariga,” Oduor told Daily Nation.
“We have only considered five professional players for this game. The rest will be considered for the next camp [against Uganda in October].”
Yesterday head coach Twahir Muhiddin said the arrival of the foreign-based players will be a big boost as it will give him ample time to monitor them.
“At least we will have two to three days to monitor their fitness levels before naming the traveling party,” he said.
