Liberia’s Top Guns Arrive For Zimbabwe Duel

Liberia is all set for this weekend’s game against Zimbabwe as 10 of the 14 players arrive. More professionals touched base on Monday.
According to LFA press officer Henry Flomo, defenders George Baysah of Hapoel Kfar Saba of Israel and Alex Karmo of Kenyan top side Stima FC, Gizzie Dorbor of Irony BatYam of Israel and Jimmy Dixon of Manisaspor of Turkey, midfielders Dulee Johnson of Aik Solna of Sweden, Theo Weeks of Ankanragucu of Turkey, Patrick Doeplah (Free Agent in Budapest) and David Ghemie, a Free Agent, newly crowned Captain and forward Anthony Snoti Laffor Super Sport United of South Africa and forward Francis Doe of Al Ahly of Egypt would complete the list on Monday.
CSK Moscow midfielders Sekou Jabateh and Isaac Pupo of Panionios GSS of Greece, and defender Solomon Grimes of Ethnikos Piraeus of Greece will drop in Tuesday.
The rest of the contingent members, midfielder Steve Mennoh of Persipasi Bekasi of Indonesia and Striker Dioh Williams of FC Alania Vladikavkaz of Russia (on loan from AGF of Denmark) will touch down on Wednesday.
The Lone Star of Liberia will host the Warriors of Zimbabwe in the opener of the 2012 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers this Sunday at the SKD Sport Complex. The Zimbabwean side and the match officials will arrive later during the week.
Highly acclaimed Koffi Codjia of Benin will referee the match, while Bakar Kaba Abu will serve as match commissioner.
Liberia is paired in Group" A" alone with Mali, Cape Verde and Zimbabwe for the qualifiers. Liberia is making frantic effort to return to the gala in 2012 having been absent since Mali 2002. The new LFA leadership says the signing of the Hungarian coach is the beginning of the road to 2012.
Meanwhile, the LFA said beginning now to the Sunday's match, Lone Star practice sessions will be closed to the public, no immunities unless approved by authorities. According to the Press Officer, this, among others, is geared at creating scenery for better concentration, void of the accustomed uncalled for distractions.
The restriction, which extends to the hotel hosting the players, is part of disciplinary plans of the LFA aimed at sourcing better results especially during the course of important matches.
