Cote d’Ivoire coach Francois Zahoui was happy to have secured a replacement for Chelsea striker Didier Drogba but his substitute will not be able to honour the call, following an unexpected injury.
CSKA Moscow's Seydou Doumbia was enlisted to play centre forward for Cote d’Ivoire in their AFCON qualifier against Rwanda on September 4 but he sustained a thigh injury on Saturday in the match against Alania Vladikavkaz.
Zahoui says he will field 24-year-old Abraham Guie Guie, who plays for French Ligue 2 club Tours.
Cote d’Ivoire are housed in Group H alongside Rwanda, Benin and Burundi.
