Abdoulaye Konko, the 26-year-old right-back who currently plays in La Liga with Sevilla is being chased by a number of countries for international representation.

Konko was born in Marseille, France of a Senegalese father and Moroccan mother. He is eligible to play for all three countries but hasn’t decided where to play.

Days ago, Senegal coach Amara Traore told the local press that he would be bringing the defender to join the Lions of Teranga ahead of the 2012 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers to boost the defensive block of the ambitious national team.

But Senegal’s state media RTS report that the French-born footballer has also been contacted by Les Bleus to come on board. But the player, who has not responded to either summons, will have to decide where to debut his international career, having not played for any national team in the past.

Konko began his professional career in 2004 with Crotone in Italy before moving to Siena and Genoa. He joined Sevilla, his current club, in 2008.
