By Rami Ayari
Tunisian national team coach Bertrand Marchand held a press conference in Tunis today where he revealed his roster for the Carthage Eagles’ upcoming African Cup of Nations qualifier against Malawi on September 4.
The Frenchman has recalled foreign based players such as Montpellier’s Jamel Saihi, Nice’s Chaouki Ben Saada, and Mainz’s new summer signing Sami Allagui. Esperance goalkeeper Wassim Nawara has also been rewarded for his impressive outings in the Tunisian league and the CAF Champions League by receiving his first call-up.
Dropped from the squad are the injured FC Zurich duo Yassine Chikhaoui and Amine Chermiti. Club Athletique Bizertin glovesman Farouk Ben Mustapha has also been omitted. Although Esperance playmaker Oussama Darragi has been called up, he must first undergo scans on his hamstring to reveal the nature of his latest injury. It is not yet evident whether he will be able to participate fully or partially in the match against the Flames next month.
