EXCLUSIVE: FA President Musa Bility Insists It’s Time To Save Liberia’s Football Image
Bility outlines preparation for 2012 African Cup of Nations qualifiers…
By Moses Kollie Garzeawu
Often referred to as the nation's 'pride and joy', the Lone Star happen to be the source of happiness for Liberians even in times of hardship.
The team’s preparations to battle the likes of Mali, Zimbabwe and Cape Verde in the upcoming 2012 Nations Cup qualifiers seems to be the focus of Liberian FA boss Musa Bility.
“We are doing all we can to build the spirit of the team from now till September when we play our first match against Zimbabwe,” Bility exclusively told Goal.com.
“We are focused on building a home-based team that can equally compete with the foreign players to have a solid team not for today but for the future,” he asserted.
The LFA president also disclosed that there are a series of international friendly matches lined-up which will feature both the foreign players and the home-based team.
He went on to disclose that a 30-man home-based team has been dispatched to camp for three months pending the qualification period.
“The happiness of all Liberians is what we anticipate in this administration and that can only be achieved through the pride of the national team. Liberia lies below the FIFA Ranking log and that is something everyone is disappointed with so that is what we all want to improve,” the Liberian FA president pointed out.
He then reminded Liberians that it was transitional period for the squad, so the issues with results shouldn't matter at the moment because the team was in the rebuilding process.
