Simba Sports Club have appointed Milovan Cirkovic from Serbia to take over from Zambian tactician Patrick Phiri, whom the Msimbazi Street side have asked to resign in order to seal the break-up.
Simba's secretary general Evodius Mtawala told Daily News that they have duly informed Phiri he should tender his resignation letter or else face any consequences that may occur.
''Phiri has failed to honour our contract agreement therefore he has to tender his resignation to officially terminate his services with Simba.
"His contract expires in three months' time therefore he is still bound with us but his resignation letter would free him from the contract," said Mtawala.
The club has accused Phiri of negligence of duty after the tactician failed to report for pre-season after going back home for holidays way back in March.
''We believe coach Phiri is an understanding man and he will accord us due co-operation in this matter',' said Mtawala.
Mtawala said their new coach is expected to jet in any time to start his two-year tenure, with Syllesaid Mziray, Selemani Matola and Amri Saidi assisting him on the technical bench.
Cirkovic had a brief stint at Simba several years back when he replaced Nielsen Elias from Brazil, who spent only two months in the country before disappearing into thin air without explanation.
