Nigeria seem to have put a spring in their step with the signing of new coach Lars Lagerback as the Super Eagles are scheduled to play four friendly games before June's World Cup.

Lagerback who was named the coach of the national team at the end of February made playing friendly matches to fine tune the team's preparations one of his most important priorities.

He has been rewarded for his tenacity with four dates set aside for the Nigerians against North Korea in Pyongyang as well as against Paraguay, Colombia and Ukraine in London.

"We're on the side of the coach," Nigeria Football Federation Secretary-General Bolaji Ojo-Oba told the BBC. "And we want to give him all the needed support expected of us.

"Considering the fact that there are no FIFA free dates between now and the World Cup, we have sorted out the top four games he craved," he continued.

Nigeria are drawn in Group B alongside Argentina, Greece and South Korea. Hence, matches against a team from each of the opponents' continents makes the Super Eagles' prospects very interesting.

The friendlies will be played in late April and May outside of the FIFA match days.
